Twisted Drunk
This weekend was lots of fun. It was great because I had such a boring week. Friday Arlet and Vivian came over. We decided to get desert. We were originally going to rent some movies but Arlet was tired as usual. We went to Cabana Lounge which was nice. It's a great outdoor cafe with nice comfy couches. We had some drinks and desert. We walked around for a while and the sisters were soon on their way.
I think Arlet really hates walking up and down Lincoln Road because she feels very self concious. I can't blame here. South Beach has a way of doing that to people. The one drawback of coming back to the beach is living around all these beautiful people. You slowly start to believe that this is how the whole world works, but it's really an illusion. The good part is that it greatly motivated you to get in shape.
Saturday I had the Rafael and Tommy invasion. We hit the beach for a while which was nice. I swear I loose six pounds everytime we walk to the beach and back. We had some dinner and then headed to Twist. It had been so long since I had gone to Twist. I loved it. Tommy and I preferred the stripper bar, where my favorite bartender was back from San Francisco. He always hooks us up with shots everytime we order something.
We had so many drinks that we actually walked back home. I was spinning around the whole time. Even Sunday morning I felt the biggest hang over! It was great! I was going to call my parents to cancel our sunday lunch because I had to finish my project, but they were already on the way. I'm glad that I didn't cancel because we walked Lincoln Road, hung out at the apartment, and ate at Big Pink. We all had a great time and I finished my homework!
It was a very successful weekend. I look forward to more of those. I know next wekeend is going to be great because I get paid and the Madonna concert is in a week!!!! I can't wait. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Movies and Depression: A Good Mix
I'm all moved in to my apartment. As I figured I'm already a little blue. Even though I've very excited about moving back to the beach, it sucks living alone. Even though Mario and I didn't work out as roommates, it was always good to know there was someone living with you to do stuff with. Maybe I just need a boyfriend? Or maybe I need more friends around me. It seems that whenever I move to the beach all my friends are far away. I realize they are a lot closer than when I was in Fort Lauderdale, and Arlet and her sister visit every weekend now, but I need to make a friend on the beach. It's always hard people who are down-to-earth and not into the scene on the beach, but I'm sure I can find someone soon. NOTE: If you live in SoBe and are real mellow and enjoy going out to movies send me some email! I'm always looking for some new friends.
I think in cooperation with the fact that I'm broke because of my move has put me in a funk. But I feel that this year is when I get my act together. My plans are lofty and I might not meet them all but I'll try! I want to save up enough money, or win enough money, to buy my own condo. I want to be finished with my Master's next year. And lastly I want to be in shape when I turn 28. I guess people start focusing on their dreams and goals when they have their mid-mid-life crisis. The good news is that if I don't meet all these goals there is always my mid-life crisis to try them again!
Lucky for me that I live so close to the movies. I saw two movies in the last two weekends. I checked out I, Robot last weekend. I was so pumped for this movie but I should have known what type of movie it was going to be. Anything with Will Smith guarantees one-liners and action. This is fine except this movie was supposed to be science-fiction. There was a lot of action and special effects in the movie, which was cool but I feel when the movie was edited they cut off a lot of the plot in favor of these action scenes. This made for a very mad movie. But somehome I'm sure America will love the movie.
The weekend before that I checked out Anchorman. This was a great movie. I love Will Ferrel and his style of comedy. Rafael went with me and he was expecting it to be crappy. He actually really liked it which surprised even me. I think he liked the moron weather man. He was very funny! The movie was so goofy and had so many off the wall jokes that it kept us laughing through the entire length of the movie.
Tonight I checked out He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not. This is a movie with the girl from Amelie, Audrey Tautou. I never remember her name but I generally like all the movies she's done, which is like a total of three? This was a really cool movie though. I thought it was going to be like Sliding Doors or Run, Lola, Run but it was a little different. It shows a love story, or what appears like a love story, through two points of views: hers and the object of her affection. I started the movie luke-warm and ended up loving the film. The movie is in French with English subtitles.
I read a great book recently. It was A Girl Like Che Guevara by Teresa de la Caridad Doval. The book takes place in Cuba. The main character is a high school senior who has to work in the country for the summer semester as is mandatory of all youth in Cuba. It was a great read. I love reading books about my country. At first she is a hardline communist who believes in the vision, but as she experiences life and becomes a woman at the camp she realizes the lies that the Cuban Socialist Party stand behind. Now that I'm back at the beach I hope to find more cuban books to read.
Before I read any more books though, I have to get my ass in gear with school. I have so much catching up to do. Since I was moving I haven't touched my school books. I have to kick it in high gear if I want to continue with my 4.0! Until Next time!

Welcome Back to SoBe
It's been a while since I write in my blog! I've been busy moving! My new apartment is great. I love it so much. Every day that I'm here I wonder why I moved to Fort Lauderdale. Don't get me wrong the experience was great, but it showed me just how much I can miss Miami. Everyone who has come over loves this apartment better than my last two.
I've been definately enjoying SoBe. All the hot boys everywhere, the beach, and lincoln road. I've been soaking it all up. As soon as I settle in and catch up with school I'll be detailing some of my more interesting sexual experiences in SoBe. It's always exciting here :)
For now here are some pics that I snapped when Susie and I went to the beach this Sunday. Enjoy!
