Roommie Drama and Little Mermaid Sing-a-Long
Heidee, her friend and I went to go see the Little Mermaid Sing-a-Long at the El Capitan Theatre. We had so much fun. I'm pretty sure that we were the only adults there without children. It felt a little creepy but we loved it anyway. Ariel came out before the movie which was fun. Before the movie started they released a whole bunch of fish confetti at the audience. Fun! Fun! Fun! Heidee really got into the singing!! The theatre was pretty empty though! I was amazed, I thought it would be more full than that! I have to say though that everytime I go to the Capitan, I feel like I should go there more often! I love that theatre. The prices are not the cheapest, but the experience is second to none!!!
So I had major Roommie drama! British Boy's ex, Rex, was supposed to move in with me. We really hit it off and I thought he was such a great guy. So we make plans to move in together. He was going to move in May 1st. Something told me that things weren't going to be smooth. Things never are with me and getting roommates. So as it turns out... two weeks before his move in date, he sends me an email saying that he feels bad but he can't move in. All of a sudden he's moving to NYC for a job opportunity that he can't pass up. He gave other personal reasons which is really why I think he did it. It was all a cluster fuck. He fucked me over because I didn't have anyone to help me pay for the month of May. He fucked over my co-worker, John, because he was going to move in to Rex's apartment. Last time John went over to check out the apartment, Rex was still there. I was upset and hurt for a while but like I've said before on here, Karma is real, and it's a bitch.
When I was telling Luis the story of what happened he said he wanted to move back in. You don't know what a sigh of relief that was for me. I've known Luis forever, even though we have our differences, we work out as roommates. He's someone that I can trust with the apartment and with Lola, and he totally understands the Cuban insanity factor. For example, I don't have to worry about him being upset if my parents come to visit for a week. Cuban parts don't get hotel rooms, they stay with you! Which is great! I did loose May's rent because I didn't have enough time to find someone but I am so glad that Luis came in for June. He saved me! And I think he missed West Hollywood too :)
The last bit of drama was when Anthony was moving out. He was going to move out on a Saturday. I told him that instead of doing that, that we should go to Venice for the day and he was welcome to move out the next Saturday. Anthony gave me this little speech about not wanting to over-extend his stay. I told him it was cool. So Friday night before our Venice outing he tells me he has a "baseball game" to go to and if we can go to Venice and be back by 2:00pm. I was frustrated at that point because he was supposed to be moving out all day and didn't have baseball plans before. I said never mind because I don't like to be held on to time constraints like that. So he tells me that we should do brunch the next day. I was mad but i got over it because he said we would do brunch.
Saturday morning I wake up ready for brunch and he tells me another story. This time he read the email wrong and the game is at 12:00pm. Can we do brunch in 45 minutes? At this point I've had it. I was so fucking pissed. And like always he pretends like he doesn't know what's wrong. I hate it when he plays the idiot. It made me realize there and then that Anthony doesn't care about anyone else except himself. He gave me this speech about not over staying his welcome and the minute I tell him he doesn't have to move out that Saturday he fills it with things to do that don't involve me. Even though we were supposed to hang out all day. As kind of a goodbye. He fucked all that.
I'm at the point in my life that I have to keep moving if people don't make an effort at friendship. This wasn't the first time this happened, it was more like the third, and I've honestly had enough. I know I've had enough because instead of being angry, I'm indifferent. I just don't care anymore. You have to surround yourself with people that love you and care for you. Not just people that are in it for themselves.

Viva Hollywood Tele-Novela Style
I'm not a big fan of reality TV shows. I have a select few that I love. Mostly they are on Bravo: Project Runway, Top Chef, Work Out, and all the trashy celebrity ones! I had seen a quick ad for Viva Hollywood and I was like what??!!
The show is a reality TV content to for latino men and women to see if they have what it takes to be the next telenovela superstar. I'm not a fan of the telenovela's but I do love the drama! I saw the premiere last Sunday at 10:30PM. It was amazing!!! The hosts: Maria Conchita Alonso and Carlos Ponce definitely bring a flavor to reality TV that is missing!! And Carlos Ponce is hot hot hot!!!! The contestants are super hot, the challenges are ridiculous, and the latino celebrities are awesome! They even have Walter Mercado! Perez Hilton and Charo are going to be upcoming celebrities!!!
Even if you aren't Latin, you have got to see this show! It's amazing. I'm definitely going to tell as many people as possible. VH1 is awesome for giving this show a shot! It has a lot of heart! And it definitely makes me proud of being Latino!!!! Let me know what you think of the show!

A 4 Letter Word Premiere
Saturday night I was invited to the premiere of A Four Letter Word by John. John is our new Talent Coordinator at Jake Cruise. He worked on the movie and got Anthony and I comp tix. Jim came to join us also. He was supposed to be accompanied by Joe, but the bitch didn't come out. The movie had already premiered in New York and this was the West Coast premiere at the Laemmle Sunset 5 by my house.
Anthony and I went early and had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We hadn't gone out for dinner in a long time so it was nice. We met up with John before the movie where he gave us our tickets. There were so many gay celebrities out. We were introduced to the stars of the movie: Jesse Archer and Charlie David, and we also saw: Alec Mapa, Ms. Coco Peru (out of drag), Rex Lee, and Thea Gill.
Everyone then went inside to see the movie. It was a gay movie and I totally support it but having said that, it wasn't the greatest movie out there. Sure the guys are hot but the wit and the lines just weren't there. It's hard to say that since I was there to support the movie but I can't lie! We did have a very good time though! After the movie the director, Casper Andreas had a question and answer session with himself and the main cast. There was an after-party at Here Lounge but I was so exhausted from a three hour hike that day that I called it a night!

Club Nur: Middle Eastern Night @ MJ's
Rafael texted me from work Thursday saying that we should go out and check out Club Nur: Middle Eastern Night @ MJ's in Silverlake. It was funny because minutes before I was reading my email newsletter from MJ's where they were advertising Middle Eastern night. The strippers looked hot, and I have a weakness for middle eastern guys!
So Rafael came over after work. We had a nice hike with Lola down to Hamburger Mary's. He was starving. I was so-so. We sat outside with Lola and I had two very strong Apple Mojitos. I was fucked up. AGAIN. The walk back up to the apartment took a lot of coordination! We finally reached my place and Mariano said he would come out with us. I didn't think he was going to come. At one point in the night he cancelled but I threatened never to talk to him again, so he showed up!
It was very cute. They decorated the inside of MJ's with a middle eastern theme. There were Persian rugs everywhere, the music was middle-eastern dance music, and the guys were so cute! The outside area was my favorite. They made some nice seating areas from rugs and had lamps lighting up the whole place. Did I mention there were middle-eastern strippers? HOT HOT HOT. We saw Rami from Project Runway Season 3. This is the second time I see him out-and-about in LA. I had an inkling that I'd see him there since they had a picture of him at the Club Nur website.
We all had such a great time! If you are ever in the Silverlake area on a Thursday night, make sure to check out Club Nur @ MJ's!

Shelter: Gay Surfing Movie
Last night Rafael, Rex, James, and I went to go check out Shelter at the Sunset 5 Laemmle Theatre. I love Laemmle Theatres because it's a chain of independent movie theaters in Los Angeles. The movie was a gay surfer movie. I've been wanting to check it out ever since I heard all this buzz around it. And hello it has Brad Rowe who was Gabriel on Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss!
Rafael and I met up at the theater. We met Rex and his friend at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a great time during dinner and then headed to the movie. I can tell everyone hated the movie. I liked it. I will admit that it was slow at times but it was so cute!!! The movie had so much potential. I think everyone else hated it because there were no full nude scenes. If there had been it would have captured their attention more :) Rafael and I were supposed to go for some drinks after the movie, but Lola was acting up and so he just went home. But first we made a quick stop to Circus of Books to rent some naughty DVD's!
I'm going to check out A Four Letter Word this Saturday. My friend at work helped produce the movie and we are going to go to the Los Angeles premiere at the Laemmle! I'll let you know how that goes!

Regretrosexual @ the Hudson Theatre
Heidee, Nicole, another friend, and myself went to go check out this play. Heidee told us about it last minute and I was ready to go. It was at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood. It's a tiny theatre that probably only sits 60 people. The cool thing about the theatre is that the front of it is a coffee shop. So you hang out grab a coffee and a snack and then go right into the theatre when the time comes for the play.
The play was so much fun. It was about a guy who is about to propose to his girlfriend but first he has to tell her that he was gay for two years in San Francisco. It was very cute! It was called RegretroSexual. After the play we hung out outside to chit-chat a little bit. We were outside for so long that the actors came out and thanked us for coming. They were probably freaked out that we were some psycho groupies wanting their autographs. We all said our goodbyes and went home.
I made a pit stop for In-n-Out burger, I was starving, and then I headed over to the Zone. But that's another story for another time....

LASIK + New Roommie Search
I had my first consulation with Dr. David Wallace at LA Sight. I was very nervous! Even though he comes highly recommended from my roommate, waiting for the initial consulation was crazy nerve-racking. I've been wanting to get LASIK for a while now. I was worried because your cornea has to have a certain thickness in order to qualify for the procedure.
I did the initial eye test and it looks like I qualify. The only thing that worried me was that the doctor said that my prescription wasn't that severe. He was almost hinting at the fact that I shouldn't have the operation. The thing with me is that my vision isn't too bad, I'm just one point away from 20/20. My problem is that I have an astigmatism. If I don't have my glasses on, I get the worst migraines ever. He said that if the glasses relieve the headache situation, the operation will do the same thing!
Once I heard that I was in! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my tax return. And I'm using my Citibank credit card, the one with miles on it, so I'll have a free flight to Miami for Christmas! It all works out! Of course I'm going to be shitting bricks the day of the operation which is April 24th. Wish me luck!
Anthony also let me know before I went to Vegas that he will be moving out in May. He gave me more than 30 days notice and it was all I could ask for. I realize the apartment is expensive and he's always in the valley. His work and after-work activies and fun is all in the valley. We had a good run while being roommates but I think this will be for the best. It's funny how life works, now that we won't be roommates anymore, we'll probably hang out more!
Unlike last time, where I was freaking out because I didn't want to live with a complete stranger, I was more calm about the process this time around. Interestingly enough Jack's friend, Rex Kelly, had told me he was interested in living in my place if a room ever opened up! It did! He came by to check out the place and loved it. I think it's going to be great. Even though we hung out for a little bit at my place I felt totally at ease with him and think we have similar personalities. I missed having a gay roommie! And he works in the porn industry too so we'll have lots in common!
All this is happening May 1st. So we'll see how it goes!
